Our advice process gives you a clear understanding of your options, our recommendations and the costs involved. We agree the work and fee before beginning, then guide you through research, implementation and any ongoing support you choose.
We begin with an initial meeting, provided without charge or obligation. We discuss your financial position, existing arrangements, objectives and any concerns you may have.
The meeting allows us to establish whether financial advice is likely to be worthwhile and gives you an opportunity to ask questions about how we work.
If you decide to proceed, we agree the scope of the work and the fee before beginning. We confirm what we will review, the advice we will provide, what the service will cost and when payment will be due.
No chargeable work begins until you have agreed to it.
We gather the information needed to understand your circumstances. This may include details of your income, expenditure, assets, liabilities, pensions, investments, protection policies, tax position and family circumstances.
We also discuss your objectives, timescale, attitude to risk, capacity for loss and any investment preferences. Where necessary, we obtain information directly from your existing providers with your authority.
We assess your existing arrangements and research suitable options from across the market. Our analysis considers suitability, benefits, risks, charges, taxation, flexibility and provider features.
We then provide a written report explaining our recommendations, why they are suitable and the costs involved. We arrange a meeting to discuss the report, answer your questions and explain the available options.
If you accept our recommendations, we arrange the applications, transfers or policy changes required. We complete the relevant paperwork, liaise with providers and keep you informed of progress.
Once the work is complete, we confirm that the agreed arrangements have been put in place.
If you choose our ongoing service, we conduct a structured review at least once every 12 months. This considers changes to your circumstances and objectives, the performance and suitability of your arrangements, investment risk, income requirements and relevant tax-planning opportunities. We also provide administrative support and access to advice between formal reviews.
The cost of advice depends on the work required and the complexity of your circumstances. At the free initial meeting, we will discuss what you need help with and explain which fees are likely to apply. The scope of the work and exact cost will be agreed in writing before any chargeable work begins.
The initial meeting is provided without charge or obligation.
Our fixed fee is £1,000, payable when we provide our written recommendation report.
This fee will be waived wholly or in part if you decide to implement any of our recommendations.
Our implementation fee is calculated as follows:
Our fee for advising on and implementing a regular savings or investment plan is £600, payable when the policy begins.
Our fee is 1% of the annuity purchase amount, capped at £2,000. This covers the financial advice and administration involved until the transfer is complete and the annuity is in force.
Implementation fees may be paid directly or, where available, deducted from the investment by the provider.
If you purchase a protection policy, you may choose for us to receive commission from the insurance provider. Although you pay nothing directly at the outset, the provider takes account of the commission when setting the policy charges and premiums.
Our ongoing service fee is 0.5% per year, subject to a minimum of £300 per year.
The fee can be paid directly or deducted from your investments. You may cancel the ongoing service at any time.
Where hourly charging is appropriate, our rates are:
Where a fixed fee is agreed, we provide written confirmation of the amount payable. For hourly work, we provide an estimate of the likely total cost before beginning.
Financial products can provide valuable benefits, but they also involve risks. We explain the risks relevant to any recommendation before you decide whether to proceed. The following general points apply to the services described our website.
